Lies of Tomorrow, Now [Absolutley on board for this]
Life was beyond itself when they invented the clock. Can you imagine
a more controversial machine? There was nothing like that, not ever.
The normal clock we use today is nothing like that first innovation—
that clock was an individual. You can’t do anything about clocks that
know how to count to how old clocks are. Those are the finest things
that ever were to be and become the meaning we’ll have for them.
Wisdom must be the word for this: the timepiece. Nobody warns you
when your watch is about to stop working, and this is intentional. You’re
meant to order your affairs on your own, with no help at all. When they
say a watch will help you do that, they don’t mean anybody else’s.
Don’t look at me for advice about how to live your life. I failed my watch.
You can’t be late, anymore. They said that to me, and I had to change in
painful ways that linger when I have shortcomings, still. Don’t become
one of those individuals. Be like the clock that means you act your age.
